Pest & weed control
Having bought your new plants it is always disheartening to find them either munched or rotting. Many common pests, diseases and fungal attacks can be stopped in their tracks if the right treatment is used.
Keeping weeds at bay reduces the transmission paths for diseases and hiding places for pests. Know your weeds.
As with the rest of the site it is still under construction and we will bring you more pests and diseases shortly.
Vine Weevil - Adult beetles eat notches in leaf edges from mid-spring to mid-autumn, while the larvae eat the roots of plants.
Control - Drench soil with "Provado Vine Weevil killer" or apply predatory Nematodes
Blackspot - A common fungal disease that attacks plants leaving pale and dark spots on the leaves. Prune away all affected leaves and burn them. Spray roses in winter with an anti black spot remedy or tar-oil wash. In early spring spray with a rose fungicide or with sulphur and mulch the ground at the base of the plant with compost.
Control - Spray with Systemic Fungicide eg "Pbi Multirose" added insecticide controls Aphid
